Welcome to the website for the Lancashire Authors' Association. For over a hundred years the LAA has been promoting the reading and writing of Lancashire literature. But we are not just an organisation for writers.
If you would like to know more about the history of the LAA here's a link to an article written by our president Eric Holt for the Manchester History Review: http://www.mcrh.mmu.ac.uk/pubs/pdf/mrhr_17ii_societies_holt.pdf
On this site you will find all the news about our meetings and competitions as well as members' achievements and publications.
Click on the buttons to discover more.
2009 is our Centenary Year! The LAA was first formed in Rochdale in 1909 by a group of Lancashire writers. Since then members have been meeting to learn more about Lancashire literature and history and to share their own writing. We meet three times a year in Chorley and Lytham. Why not come along? You'll be very welcome.
